We Feel Like the Center of the Solar-System Has Collapsed
Oakland A's Days is annoyed with the A's right now and we don't particularly feel like talking about them. Maybe we need the off-day. But if you have anything nice or hopeful to say, please do so below. It would really cheer us up. Thanks a lot.
"This is a test of our commitment, our fandom and our resolve as bloggers from the bright-side."
"It is TOUGH to be an A's fan right now, but we will never, EVER be ashamed. If anything, these tough times will build our character as fans."
"All we can do is hold our heads high and stand by our A's. All of this losing is certainly disappointing, but we're still enjoying our team... The beauty of baseball is that in the words of Ron Washington "you come out to the yard every day and try and have fun." So we're going to enjoy the maturation journey of our young, mostly home-grown talent."
"Today is a new day and the truth is, as horrific as the 22 scoreless innings have been, a 3 game losing streak is actually a pretty common thing. No doomsdayers are we."
"Last night's game made Oakland A's Days realize that even if this season is mostly just the A-Rays scrapping and fighting and mostly losing, there are still going to be amazing moments that make us happy and proud to be Oakland A's fans."

I'm glad we're slightly slumping right now. The hot streak was VERY hot and our A's could not have kept it up through the playoffs. However, a hot streak, followed by a (hopefully) much shorter cold streak, can often be followed by another hot streak. Just in time for playoff season!

Even with the struggles and frustrating May-like losses of this past week, the A's are still right in the thick of the playoff race. Earlier this season, it looked like the A's could only hope to be spoilers in September, so at least we get to enjoy the fun anticipation of scoreboard watching and games that matter. And importantly, the Angels haven't done that much to take advantage of the A's slump and all the teams in the W.C. race are flawed in their own ways.

Oakland A's Days would like to say how much we appreciate the kind commenter who listed those quotes from past posts, above. Thank you for reminding us of how we really feel about the A's. The off-day and all of these comments were really great -- they helped us put things in perspective. We're ready to enjoy this journey that is the 2005 season once again. Go A's!
